President's Message

Dr. Keisha N. Allen

As President, I am thrilled to welcome you to our community—a space dedicated to empowerment, unity, and transformation. At GDABSW, we believe in the power of collective action to inspire change and create a brighter future for individuals, families, and communities.

Whether you’re here to connect, learn, or join our mission, know that your presence matters. Together, we honor our heritage, embrace our shared humanity, and work tirelessly to advance social justice and equity.

The seven principles of the Nguzo Saba guide and inspire our work. Each day, we strive to embody:

  • Umoja (Unity): Strengthening bonds within our community and fostering collaboration.
  • Kujichagulia (Self-Determination): Empowering individuals to define, create, and uplift their futures.
  • Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility): Standing together to solve challenges and build lasting solutions.
  • Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics): Supporting economic growth that benefits us all.
  • Nia (Purpose): Remaining focused on our mission to uplift, heal, and transform lives.
  • Kuumba (Creativity): Innovating to find meaningful, culturally rooted approaches to social change.
  • Imani (Faith): Believing in our ability to create a just, equitable, and empowered future.

We invite you to join us on this journey. Together, we can uphold these principles, strengthen our community, and leave a legacy of progress and hope.

In the Spirit of Harambee!
